One week on since Gloucestershire was hit by the mighty floods....everyone quick jump into the ark! Fortunately we haven't quite turned into zombies yet but there have been a few fights in supermarkets fighting over water bottles.....please send the poor people of Cheltenham, fine wine and beautiful pizzas:>)
Don't worry I think we can overcome and get throught this, the end is in sight and it's not like we live in Africa where lack of water is a daily way of life.
Well that was the week that was....wet! No work this week as my place had flooding and i've gone on in on intermitten periods to help out. Just thankful no flooding where we live and it's just been no water at the mains which has been slightly annoying but not awful. Bowswer trecking in the mornings has become routine and it can be quite social! I bumped into my friend today at the same one and then we went around to hers for a natter. I've heard a rumour that the supplies may come back Sunday but better not count my bowser buckets until we know for sure. The poor unlucky folks in Gloucestershire who have had their homes flooded must be living a nightmare. People compare this situation to the war years.. briging out thr best and worst in folk, just as long as we have no bombs flying over, we'll be fine!
Yesterday I was bowser trecking for water and an elderly guy was on the hunt too so we ended up wandering the streets of N'am on the scrounge, we looked like Steptoe n Son/ or this case daughter! The only real bug-bear is not being able to shower and wash properly everyday, but hopefully we're not too stinky yet. It's surprising the amount of water needed to flush the loo. This experience makes you realise just how much water we use and waste, even doing your teeth is a chore balancing water in hand to mouth formation! Ypu spill alot!
I've ben lucky as I haven't had to go into work much this week so I've had time to track down bowsers and get enough to keep us going and find the time today to blog. I've felt like a house wife this week!:>)
Here's to sunny days and water ways as long as the water is in the taps and not on the highways!
Did you think bowser was a dog, well hardly any people I know had heard of the word before.

Yes, I did think bowser was a dog---what is it?
That situation sounds HORRID--- I am so sorry you must endure it. Hope it is over soon! I think I depend on running water more than any other modern convenience... makes me crazy not to have it!!
Good luck to you!
I hope you get sunny days and quick!
Just come for a visit. It's raining here too, but not flooded. :)
My awkward moments came when putting anti-bac soap on my hands only to then have to hold and balance a water bottle over each hand to rinse.
Did any of us ever use the word 'bowser' before last week??
