After a minor technical hitch probably postponed from the millenium bug...(did that ever happen or was that the best urban myth ever?).. goldie wislon is back for some witterings.
Don't want to bore you with work but it does feel like Christmas never happened a part from it did as I have a few bulges to budge to proove I did over indulge, ah well..
Here's a few trivial things on my mind of today and yesteryear;
- Find my disco dancin shoes and find the disco/ glam rock diva in me again!!
- Try not to watch reality shows, ahem Big Brother's Pete Burns' shoes and Barrymore's witterings are the best thing going for that programme...ooops I caught a bit of a survival game show today, 2 teams on 2 islands compete to develop a colony to win over new people during 5 months, the team with the most people at the end win £70,000. That figure is used alot on these shows-wonder why?
- Why do popstrals keep making covers, today I saw an Atomic Kitten lass sing A Barbara Striesand song from the early 80's, I remember mum playing the original on her Guilty album. Always did wonder about Babs and Barry Gibb, they had so much hair going on between them ;-)
- Ah, i'm having a rose tinted view of when I was a pre-teen, I loved looking through my parents old records..and in my early teens I easily spent hours with my mate at the record fairs, she'd be hunting for Heavy Metal and I was trawling for Kylie!!!!!! I have no shame. I did manage to find stuff amongst the Deep Purples, Black Sabbaths and I actually got into liking the Black Crows, Poison, Guns n Roses and Alice Cooper! I think I had a thing for their hair and bad boy image. My friend used to love playing the Sex Pistols as it used to wind her mum up. Ever remember Curiosity Killed the Cat? I used to fancy the really skinny one and them moved onto the dark haired guy, never bought their music though. Trashing magazines for pictures to pin on my wall of those we fancied and taping music was how we spent a lot of time...before the dreaded homework kicked in and before we used to try and act older and hang out with the older boys. My friend went straight in to the heavy metal/ goth scene, clubbing from 15 I stayed on the fringes...........which is pretty much how i've always been knowing different people and being interested in people.

Welcome back Wislon.
Yeah what is it with cover versions, can no one write an original song these days? Or film (king kong, willy wonker, war of the worlds yawn)
Am totally hooked on BB this time round, might get dull without Jodie though
Glad you're back! And I think hanging out on the fringes is fine, that's what I've done too.
My teen music memories are a tad older than yours, but in typical poof fashion, I adored Babs, anything Disco, but also dabbled in Foreigner, Duran Duran, and Journey.
Liked Slash, he was all hat and hair ;-)
Welcome back, darling!
