I feel such a prude. I read this morning about Tokyo girls and women and their empowered state of wanting to please men and make money.... I think alot of women do the world over, but not necessarily all want to be making money through pleasing men. I found it interesting that because the culture in Tokyo is so consumer driven, fads and fashions change all of the time and so do their sexual pleasures... I know I wouldn't be able to keep up with the fashions. I'm the sort to catch a tiny bit of a trend just as it goes out. Anyway especially Tokyo girls and women of any age are apparently taking the bull by the horns and working for escort agencies and cafes with floor and ceiling mirrors to titivate customers- the new style tea-houses.... nothing that new I suppose. The article puts across the point that women enjoy flaunting themselves, they are doing it for themselves to make money to buy the designer clothes and latest gimmicks.
Everyone has the choice to be and do whatever they wish- which was along time coming in Japan. Some Japanese women still have to be on their knees when their husbands return home and be there for their man's every whim, so I expect for many freedom is a blessing but I just wonder how many are feeling expoited and vunerable.

Dress it up how you like- still exploitation for the pleasure of men ain't it? Same as other forms of oppression- just that we're now supposed to believe that the women enjoy it ....grrrr!!
Check out the satirical american Magazine the onion "Women now empowered by everything women do". Apparently it's no longer empowering to fight for equal rights (so last century honey), instead simply get your kit off for the lads - in an empowering way!
