I drove all night

Walking to work I saw a beautiful bright sun, I was nearly blinded by the light (think there is a song there)
First showerings of fluffy flakes came our way to the Cotswolds last night. We just can't handle a few inches over here. The salt lorries didn't get out in time so folks were stuck on slippery hillsides out in the sticks, one of them being my dad. Fortunately he was close to an inn so like others he sheltered with good food and friendly folk whilst waiting for the all clear to get back onto the icy roads and dogem car hell. Jack-knifed lorries and abandoned cars everywhere. He arrived home in the end but it took him 6 hours to get home for a drive which normally takes an hour, thankfully he had his mobile so we could keep in radio-contact, still worrying though...

Earlier in the evening I had a driving lesson and experienced amazing snow hitting the windscreen effects!!..... needed to keep my eye on the road not the pattern formations as my instructor quaked for fear of ending up in a ditch... actually he was just as bewildered and his GPS geographical position satellite woman kept telling me to make a u-turn!!! yes my instructor has a new toy to amuse/ annoy his pupils with...

Don't pay attention to the patterns on the windshield! You'll get yourself killed. (This does not apply however if you're parked : )

My South african friend at work enjoyed the snow- was the first time she'd seen it, her and her boyfriend watched it from a park bench and then went for a mulled wine, bless
