Had a lovely time with the Cavy in Bath Spa this Saturday, nice to get away.
I've been around the Roman Baths a few times now but it's always a fun place, fab for kiddies to imagine life in Roamn times. The walkie talkies are a great way to take in the information and it keeps everyone amazingly calm and quiet. Felt like dipping into the baths but the rain and the green colour put me off, plus it wouldn't have been the done thing really. I would recommend the Spa water for medicinal reasons, i'm sure it's supposed to be good for you but it's warmth and saltiness was a bit sickly. The elegant Pump Room with pianist, chandellier's and menu to match made the setting idyllic, i'm sure I saw Jane Austin tucking into a prawn cocktail, just thought it was a bit odd, that us tourists were like the poor relations supping our 50p spa water from the sidelines.
Outside the Pump Room were 2 clowns performing to crowds with sparklers-well it was Guy Fawkes Night that night afterall. It was the location of the sparklers which gave me a giggle, basically stuck between their cheeks..... and with this thought i'll retire to my quarters with my many man servants ;-)... in my mind

What Goldie is failing to say is the amount of time she spent looking a video mockup of a naked roman being given a rubdown!
