Cheltenham Council are banning the Christmas market from the promenade as it's not upmarket enough!
Apparently a foam Bart Simpson was spotted on a stall last Christmas and that just won't do.
The Christmas market was great, mulled wine, magicians and all the craft stalls you could shake hot poker at, So what's the councils' problem eh?

Well why spoil the dignity of Cheltenham by actually having fun?
Yeah, Cheltenham can't be seen to have jolly jesters and tipsey revellers in the prom, ooohh that'd never do.
and to have Bart Simpson appaer in foam form is the pits of insanity and demise,
please I need some mulled wine to get over this dross of festive downers
Does this mean the only place we will be able to get old warm wine is Yates ????
looks like it!
On the mulled wine front, the best place I found was a little twee pub on the docks of Gdansk, bit far to go for a glass, must try and ask around Nam for their finest.
No hot chocolate laced with Baileys either, really helped make shopping more fun.
The Cheltenham Council has a funny idea of what's good for the place.
BTW they've put up a barrier around Royal Well from 8.30pm-5.50 am to stop boy racers from using the Well has a racetrack. Why doesn't the Police step in and do more to stop them, it's the innocent drivers/ pedestrians that are just as likely to be involved in a smash. I can appreciate peolple wanting fun, but more and more deaths are being cuased by joy riding.
Sorry this is my rant for the day....
