St John Smiths Day

Goldiemowling

In one of my favourite watering holes; I was amused. It seems, to get folk hyped up, spend lots of cash and get wasted why not tie-in England's St George's Day- being April 23rd with John Smiths being the prime promoter of the day. Alot of English people don't tend to make a fuss of their Saint.

Alot of Irish celebrate and make their St Patrick's day joyous with a little bit of help from their home grown Guiness. So watch out lot's of John Smiths hats about town and red cross t-shirts....

Well the traditional St George's day celebration is to sit in a pub and moan about the fact that people never celebrate St George's day.

I suppose it's not surprising people don't celebrate him in England much as St George proably never even set foot on English soil and he's a Saint to a few other countries too. Share and share alike. I'll be in the pub no doubt anyway!

A high speed car chase in my local town insighted visitors to say, oohh things like that don't normally happen in this sleepy town, I can't really see the positives in nearly causing mass damage and carnage.
